When The Dust Settles

Life is funny, but God always has a plan. Sometimes in the thick of struggle and pain it’s hard to perceive Purpose and Destiny. One day you’re on the road to greatness then you look up and seemingly out of nowhere you are on a lonely, dark, forsaken road feeling totally abandoned. You ask yourself, how in the world did I get here?

You’ve worked hard and served well. You’ve been a blessing to those around you. You’ve stretched yourself, utilized your gifts, and you have honored God along the way, and yet here you are. This was not the plan. You did not sign up for this. You saw things going another way.

Thoughts of turning back flood your mind. The familiarity of the past is tempting. Yes, there were struggles and no you weren’t exactly happy, but you knew what you were dealing with. But in your spirit, you know you were called to more. You feel an unction to move forward, to launch into the deep, to brave the road less traveled. But it’s dark. It’s scary. You can’t see your way.

May I encourage you? Now is not the time to turn back. Now is not the time to dwell on the past. No, you have not just entered the Twilight Zone, you’re on a faith walk. Here’s where you trust God even when you can’t trace Him. It’s called the road of Surrender. You’re right where you’re supposed to be. There has been no mistake. You haven’t somehow drifted off the road or took a wrong turn. Embrace this season for all it is and when it starts to feel unbearable remember seasons do change…it won’t always be like this! This dark, dreary road was tailor made with your destiny in mind…and when the dust settles everything will be just as it should be, and Purpose will be waiting to greet you…
