Girl, Stop Trippin!

Ever consider how much time you waste thinking about what people are doing to you and saying about you? How many GREAT ideas have you sidelined or placed on the back burner behind a snide remark or disparaging comment? Listen, if there's one thing you can expect in life, it's that people will people every day all day for the rest of their lives!!!

If you are waiting for one hundred percent support and buy in, I'm afraid to say you'll be waiting. There will always be someone who will disagree with your plans, someone who lacks the capacity to catch your vision, and always someone who loves the vision but hates the vision belongs to you! But guess what, friend? That's their problem and not yours!

Stop losing sleep. Stop ripping yourself apart in the mirror. Stop doubting your ability. Stop listening to them and start listening to the One who created you. Everything He created was good and very good. If He places a dream in your heart, He will also send provision and resources to help you bring it to fruition!

You are ah-mazing. You are beautiful and full of splendor. The light of God shines brightly inside of you and all around you. So don't come out of character and whatever you do don't stop being you. If your kilowatts are too bright for them, don't dim your light simply hand them a pair of sunglasses!

Psalm 37 has been my morning cup of tea and my nighttime lullaby. The Bible puts it this way, 'Fret not thyself...' but in everyday kind of vernacular, I hear it this way, Girl, Stop Trippin! We are exhorted to remain unbothered by evildoers and workers of iniquity. Scripture says, 'they shall soon be cut down like grass, and wither as the green herb.' Wow. It goes on to say, 'For yet a little while and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.' Wow. Wow. Wow!

Adjust your focus. Set your intentions. There's no need to be angry at them. There's no need to harbor ill feelings towards them. You don't have time for that. Instead, take delight in the project God has given you. Offer your gifts back to God. You see what they are doing. You hear what they are saying. But choose to focus your eyes, ears and heart on your God-assignment because that's where your blessings are...

Let God deal with them while you get back to the business of being you!
