Stay in Your Lane...

It’s wonderful to have a beautiful, kind, compassionate heart…

People love how you listen and how they feel after being in your presence. You know how to build and share a glimpse of what you see when you look at them. You remind them of how special they are to God and why they must share their gift with the world.

You lend your strength and believe in them, hoping they will soon learn to believe in themselves. You make yourself available. You push aside your priorities. You make time to encourage, inspire, and give gentle reminders…

You give, and give, and give some more, until there is nothing more to give…

Now you feel empty. Completely drained. All used up.

This was never God’s design.

Yes, God gave you that big, beautiful heart to share. He filled it with so much love, kindness and goodwill. He placed His spirit inside of you to spread warmth and compassion to everyone you encounter…

But He never intended for you to change anyone. That’s His job. And that’s why you’re so tired, worn out, and disillusioned. Instead of directing them to Him, you took every call, you offered a solution for every problem. Your intentions were pure. You were just trying to help…

But unknowingly, you caused harm. They took more from you than you had to give and by enabling them you became a crutch. They never learned how to fully lean and depend on God because they became used to leaning and depending on you.

Just as you go to God for joy, inspiration and strength, they too must learn to do so. Let them walk! God’s mercies are new every morning. Each day He gives you a measure of grace to face your own challenges. He gives this to all his children.

Allow His Holy spirit to rejuvenate you again. Allow His strength to flow freely through you. Allow Him to resuscitate your heart. Kneel before Him. He wants you to be happy, healthy and whole.

 Be strengthened. Be renewed. Be refreshed.
