Don't Lose Yourself...

There’s nothing wrong with you. You haven’t missed the train. You haven’t been abandoned at the station. You are right where you are supposed to be. God is speaking to you and directing your life, even now.

Somedays you watch the glitz and glamour, enamored by the fame that accompanies the platform, and somehow what you are called to at this moment seems to pale in comparison, leaving you to feel small and unimportant.

But nothing could be further from the truth. Your name may not be in lights but the Light of God’s Word shines through your heart. Every divine assignment carries weight and glory. Every single one of them! You are not your own boss; you answer to a Higher Authority. He alone decides where to send His laborers.

It is during these humble, routine, mundane days that your calling is clarified and your intentions are purified. It is here where you must ponder your ‘why’ and acknowledge your truth. It is here you must resist the urge to evolve without transformation. God makes no mistakes. If He wanted you to be like them, He would have created a clone. So why kick against the pricks?

Sister, you only have grace to be you.

Sure, you can change your sound, alter the message, and become self-acclaimed, but there is no grace for you in those fields! So, you have to ask yourself, what am I really seeking? Fame? Notoriety? Acceptance? Validation? Need I remind you that your gift actually belongs to God and not you? He gave it to you to be a blessing. Whether your gift lands you on a big stage or in front of a small quaint group, praise God either way! Be faithful. Be committed. Give your best.

“For who hath despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice…” (Zechariah 4:10 NLT)

Listen, never confuse Popularity with Purpose. Positions may change and popularity will fade, but God’s Purpose is forever. Continue occupying the space God has called you to. Stay ready. Study hard. Make preparation and fulfill your assignment with joy.

May I share my favorite verse with you? “Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4) Enjoy what you do where you are doing it. Be glad. Be honored. Be humbled that God has made choice of you. Settle in your spirit that you will serve faithfully wherever He positions you. Don’t get lost in the shuffle. Embrace your light, your beauty and the uniqueness of you. Nobody can beat you being you! Your day is not coming, it’s already here!
